  4.     Singlular Solutions, D2D Systems to ship Atari Falcon 030 Digital
  5.    Workstation.

  7.     Pasadena, CA - January 11, 1993 - Singular Solutions today
  8. announced that the first digital audio workstation built upon the
  9. Atari Corporation's latest computer, the Falcon 030(tm), is slated
  10. for shipment.  The combination of Singular Solutions A/D64x(tm) Audio
  11. Interface and D2D EDIT(tm) from D2D Systems of Cambridge, England
  12. represents the first professional quality audio production system to
  13. employ the extensive digital audio capabilities of the Atari
  14. Falcon030.

  16.     The two companies will showcase the system at the National 
  17. Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Winter Show, to be held from January
  18. 15-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim,California.  The system 
  19. is scheduled to start shipping shortly after the conclusion of the show,
  20. which over 35,000 members of the music industry are expected to attend.

  22.     The Singular Solutions A/D64x provides two channels of "audiophile-
  23. quality" analog-to-digital conversion at multiple sampling rates, plus an
  24. integral phantom powered microphone preamp, absolute digital overload
  25. indicators, and digital audio input and output.

  27.     D2D Systems' D2D EDIT is the first digital recording and editing
  28. package to utilize the digital audio features of the newest Atari
  29. computer.  A Falcon030 equipped with D2D EDIT provides users with a
  30. full-featured digital audio workstation capable of recording and
  31. editing CD-quality sound.  D2D EDIT provides direct to disk
  32. recording, non-destructive waveform editing, MIDI timecode drive cure
  33. sheet, punch-in recording, and on-the-fly marker creation.  The
  34. Singular Solutions A/D64x extends the Atari-D2D systems combo with
  35. digital audio input and output plus very high quality
  36. analog-to-digital conversion.

  38.     "Our previous experience in hard disk recording has always
  39. required us to produce our own hardware," indicated Paul Wiffen,
  40. Director of Marketing for D2D Systems.  "With this cooperative
  41. effort, we are able to concentrate on what we do best, which is
  42. software, and let Atari and Singular Solutions concentrate on the
  43. hardware.  I believe that the results speak for themselves."

  45.     The A/D64x features two channels of 16-bit delta-sigma
  46. (ultralinear) analog-to-digital conversion with 64 times oversampling
  47. and a three stage linear phase digital anti-alias filter.  It is
  48. equipped with balanced as well as unbalanced inputs and an integral
  49. low noise microphone preamp with 48 bolt phantom power.  The digital
  50. audio input and output support both AES/EBU and S/PDIF standards.
  51. The A/D64x is constructed entirely of professional quality components.
